Fall Sale:
Hello from the Wooden Duck,
2008 has been an interesting year for all us. Our store client base has seen a noticeable shift from people moving into new places to people upgrading their furniture in their existing place because they know they’re going to be there for awhile. Through the expansion of our factory building and the continued growth by our store in San Rafael, we were able to have our best year ever but that doesn't mean that we're not cautious. The number one goal during this Fall sale is to sell off all the existing outdoor teak furniture so we don't carry it in stock during the winter months. This means great deals, lots of stock and quick delivery for those who want it.
New warehouse: We have finally taken over the last 25% of our warehouse down at the freeway frontage road (1801 Eastshore). This gives us a total of 20,000 square feet down at the freeway and now eclipses our Seventh St. building in size. In order to serve more customers during the sale, we are extending the SALE hours at the freeway location to 9 to 9pm and will now have the ability to charge credit cards directly there (during the SALE). So, in other words, it's possible to purchase garden furniture AND pick it up in the same location. Most of the indoor furniture will remain at the Seventh St. (Berkeley) location and the San Rafael Store. Of course it is still possible to purchase and set up delivery for outdoor furniture at all three locations.
Commercial projects: Despite a horrible economy, the commercial projects have continued unabated. We're not sure if 35 Bay Area furniture stores going out of business in the last year has anything to do with it, but business at the factory is booming.
New Umbria tables: Huge, tough, recycled teak communal tables can now be purchased directly at the Eastshore and Seventh St. (Berkeley) locations. We had a couple of these on display during the summer sale which were "order" only but now we have some stock. These hefty communal tables are for a "big" yard. Because of the many variations in width and length, customers will be able to "order" at the sale price during the sale.
Samples of all tables we make on display. We've made a concerted effort to have one of each of the 15 standard custom table styles on the floor for the sale. All tables can be made custom according to: a) length b) width c) height d) level of distress e) leaves or no leaves.
"Seconds" at Eastshore. "Scratch and dent" sale will take place in the "new" side of the Eastshore warehouse.
